Bacon Jam Smashburgers
INGREDIENTS FOR BACON JAM
1 lb bacon
1 yellow onion
12 oz beef broth
1 c brown sugar
1 tbsp Roasted garlic
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp jalapeno juice
Pickled jalapenos
Char-Griller Sweet & Spicy seasoning
BURGER INGREDIENTS
1 lb 80/20 ground beef
3 brioche buns
6 slices american cheese
Mayonnaise
BBQ Sauce
DIRECTIONS
Slice yellow onion and bacon.
Cook bacon bacon Flat Iron griddle and sauté diced onions in bacon grease. Season with Char-Griller Sweet & Spicy seasoning.
Add 12 oz of beef broth in pan on the griddle.
When bacon and onion are about finished, add pickled jalapenos.
Add bacon, onions, and jalapenos to the pan with the beef broth along with 1 c brown sugar.
Bring the jam mixture to a boil and add 1tbsp of roasted garlic, 1 tbsp of jalapeno juice, and 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar.
Continue cooking the jam mixture until it thickens and the liquid has reduced.
Pulse the jam mixture in a blender to your desired thickness.
Make the burger sauce by combining 2 parts mayo to 1 part BBQ sauce.
Divide the 1 lb of ground beef into 6 meat balls.
Butter buns and lightly toast them on the griddle.
Add meat balls to the griddle and smash. Season with Char-Griller Steak seasoning.
Flip burgers and add a piece of American cheese.
Build your burger by adding the burger sauce to the bottom bun, 2 cheeseburgers, and then top with your bacon jam.
